Since he does not allow any shad, even dead shad, I dont think I will be fishing there.

Whats up with not allowing even dead shad to be used as cut bait?

I am starting to have my doubts about Butler.  Nothing has been caught out of there over 39 lbs this year and I am hearing it has not been stocked with any large ones for a few years.  Anyone know last time some big ones were put in?

Then it is my guess that the big ones have died off then.  I want to land something 40 or above so I guess I am going to have to go elsewhere to do that.  For the price you pay to fish there he should be stocking more big ones.  Granted you will catch fish there but to continue to catch 8 to 15 lbs fish is not what I am wanting to do.  A monster once in a while would be good.  My biggest there is 29.4 and the largest caught this year is 39.9.  I doubt anyone will bust the 45 to 46 slot or the 59 to 59.9 slot.  Guess I am going to try Lake Monroe.  Was there checking the place out and watched a 45.6 get pulled in plus you can keep fish out of the catchout ponds you keep nothing at Butler even though there are small channels there.

Went to Butler on Sun, Will never be back. After the anal cavity search he proceeded to check the empty barrel (bigfish) that was in the back of my truck my empty cooler and my tackle box. Asking me if I was there to hurt his fish and telling me not to fish in front of the dock because that's where he feeds his fish, all before I got into the bait house to buy a ticket. Like an idiot I purchased a ticket and fished the dam side of the lake. About 2 hours into my stray my wife called and asked if I wanted some MC'D and brought me some food he yelled at me telling me I had to order food from the bait house that I was'nt allowed to have someone bring me food. Really? I live like 400 yards up the road which makes it ideal for me on Sunday because its never busy and you can catch fish just not anything big. He can keep my 17 $ and put it in that 50+ pot that will never be broken. If I ever do go again ill be taking some Purina dough balls and a 5 gallon bucket of shad eggs just out of spite. On a lighter note the gate to the parking lot gets locked after he leaves so you must drag all your shit through the bait house to leave the property. Try carrying bait tank , poles , box chair , net ...etc through the bait house in one trip. That's so he can see who is coming and going through the video cameras posted throughout the property. This is just my 2 cents try it out for yourself if you wish or do yourself a favor go to Remmington or Monroe if you live on that side of town they aren't that far and you don't get the feeling like your in prison.

PS Make sure you read the legal sized pad of rules posted on the left wall before heading out to the lake if nothing else its worth a good laugh. And I really hate posting this about a lake that I grew up on and fished 100s of times in my youth. A place where I had caught my biggest fish all the way up until my 30s. But I go to enjoy myself , relax and catch a few fish. Not to be yelled at because my wife brought me a cheeseburger to the parking lot.

only fished there like 1 time way back in the day, before the top lake was sold and you was actuly able to atleast walk to you car without being ask or told you couldnt without showing what you had or got out of it, even though it is his lake, im sure somewhere there is a law about the way he treats and does that place. i mean im not bashing but come on get real, if some one would EVER try and open my tackle box or what ever it may be, there might be a good old school BUTT KICKEN going on, LOL  then i will leave and not return. That crap like that is just crazy stuff. I h ave NEVER heard anything like that in my 20 yrs. of fishing. that is some really crazy crap. but his lake him rules, but my belongings, and NO ONE, can, and will not go through it.
